English Pc3k +pcdosemu problems

Guys please help, I am stuck,
I have english pc3000 v14
what is needed to get the damn pcdosemu running, I have tried it with several versions of dos with diff mem configs(the emm386) but the damn thing wont load, what the heck am I doing wrong??
I keep on getting errors stating it wants pure dos and emm386

yeah I do, sitting at about 612k I think i have tried other ems managers like qemm (I am an old school dos Kinda guy)
I have tried inside of vmware, on a separate hdd in a machine
running dos 6 through to dos 8
DRdos, my own dos compatible os I wrote
nothing seems to be working, I have tried 2 diff versions of the emulator I could find but still it says

"Want pure DOS!"

"Want EMM386!"

I have got cracked russian versions but they dont help me as I can read the damn things

My next step is to disassemble the emulator and try and rewrite it to make it work

I tested cracked pc3k v14 in the past and didn't have any problems, why don't you give up vmware and try it in pure DOS + EMM386 at least it is what you been told :)

Where did you find a english copy of pc3k?

did you try using the emm386 from the working russian version ?

I had tried both vmware and a stand alone machine and no luck with with either,I have 3 dos machines running, real PC's not VM's did not work on any of them.

it's was a copy I found on a server sometime ago v14.51 i think, but the original emulator apparently does not work with that version.
and yes I also tried the emm386 from russian copy

**UPDATE**

to date I have not been able to get the emulator to work(it just wont run) I have tried dos 6.22 - dos 8 and more(diff flavours of DOS)
what I finally did was disassemble and recode the emulator, it now works with the russian version of pc3kisa (I know it worked before, but now works on MY machine :) )

I will be setting up a orbitfiles account soon to upload it there for all who want to use, I also have a number of other goodies for anyone interested including a 115page(approx) english manual for ISA version and a few goodies more
I will work on a list of what I have see if I can help out a bit with things that people need.

I am working on a crack/patch/emulator for English v14.51

I am also working on an "updated" type version of mhdd, similar features but adding more to it, at the moment I have the basics plus reading of SA on fuji, ibm, wd drives, uploading of firmware etc...

I don't understand how people go about working with cyrillic alphabet and performing major surgeries on their drives without understanding a thing. If it is english version, i would think 5 times before pressing a button.

the latest version I have been able to get the emulator to work on is v14
but all these versions have either been in russian or chinese, I have learnt to read russian a little and it has helped in fixing a number of drives but I too am after an english version.

I recoded the emulator to work on my machine which was giving problems(emulator would not work at all no matter what I did)
I am currently working on the v14.5 emulator but still having problems with it, and yes the v14.5 I have is english.

I am in the process of putting together a .ISO image file I want to upload to rapidshare or similar of all my tools, manuals, pdf's firmware etc..
Basically a collection of all the tools and docs I have collected or written on HDD repair and recovery.
I will be posting links in this forum to where the files will be hosted.

What about HRT? Does this have a DOS version? I have one but it does not work on x64 due to unsigned drivers.

I can't run PC3000 with the same EMMS/Pure Dos errors. And I am in DOS and EMMS was loaded. I can run shell.com and PC3000 secreen will come, but everything will lock.

As far as I know hrt was never available for dos(can someone confirm this pse). Earliest I have ever seen on HRT is windows 98, I have heard of an HRT "Emulator". Basically it's supposed to be a driver that allows HRT to run on a Secondary IDE port, I have a copy of the driver but I have not tested it yet.

X64?? bad idea, trying getting a dedicated PC for working with drives.
My spec is a small 2.4ghz p4 512mb ram Harddrive is anything I use at the time.
I have modified the boot so it boots direct to a command prompt for using things like mhdd, HDDL, my own tools or anything else I fancy..should I need windows it's a simple case of typing "win" and away we go.

Providing you tweak the system slightly, PC3000 v14 runs quite nicely under windows 98.

one thing I noticed about pcdosemu is it like a specific version of emm386
I will dig out my pcdosemu stuff and post it for download for you, just gimmie a day or so to test and make sure it works for you

I am not in repair business. I am just fiddling with some of my dead drives just out of pure curiousity. I have no data that i need to recover, and i have no need for the drives either. Purely curiousity.

I run all my drive utilities from pure DOS anyway.
