View Full Version : leaving out the first bad blocks
Cutting a drive, how to leave the first sectors out. Hpa only works at the end. Can someone talk about the zone table?

put first sectors as defective into p-list
making a partition at the end does not work for you ?
many drives has a lot of bad sectors at the first 2 000 000 blocks as I can see in MHDD, but the rest of the drive is in perfect conditions. Obviusly there is no place in g and p list to realocate this many bad blocks. The only solution to this is to Cut the drive, but HPA only works at Maximun LBA (the last sectors). Wich modification in Service Area can resize Hard Drive leaving the first sectors out?
