Athena problem

One problem thats driving me crazy in the Maxtor 2b020h1 shows itself maxtor athena i load ldr in pc3k pci it loads ok then i read drive id shows it Maxtor Athena where i have seen that if ldr load ok then changes its name to 2b020h1 then i start utility then goto SA structure test i see no modules bad what could be the problem then ?

I got the same problem with an N40P (see the thread N40P full working with loader but not alone) , the problem could be:
1) problem in the overlays (trash)
2) BAD head.
3) at startup some critical modules could not be loaded.
"no modules bad" : the header and the checksum are correct but there's trash INSIDE the module.
Double-check G_ and P-LIST (content, not only checksum and header!).
Don't know if selfscan could start correctly with a loader but have you tried it yet ? (always make backup of the system area BEFORE starting selfscan...)
just in case adaptives are not OK.

Hmmm .....

There is a possibility that some flag(s) or parameter have been changed by drive internal firmware or portion(s) of critical module corrupted ...

Another area that needs checking will be UList (sa translator) and DISKID module ... I have previously encounter similar incident (quite some time ago) and it was traced to slow sectors in overlay group ...

Whatever it is, you'll have to trace, check and counter-check ...

Why isnt the name displayed correctly after loading the LDR ?

Hmmm .....

The main purpose of loader is to enable access to SA. If FW is working, starting with loader will start drive with full model name ... If FW is not working, loader will start drive with model factory alias name ...

be sure from board connector is working and if u measure it most of maxtor firmware unresponding from board connector if u complete sure from your ldr

I say simply to u check the board connectors and pins is it no't easy to understand :S ? i explained befor that u need to check board if ur LDR file is good from the source then ur problem in connector of the board although some ppl's dosn't agree to be HW trouble :D

the LDR is from a good source with same checksum of the drive's ROM SA and how can it a connector problem the hdd shows Maxtor Athena its a firmware problem for GOD sake .

I have fixed the problem the problem was in Glist i rewrite with good module but one thing i dont understand why was it shown ok in firmware structure .
